Cablelay Basket Matting

by Paul 16. September 2009 12:21

The Cablelay range was introduced around the millennium to provide protection to the structured cabling systems being installed into commercial buildings.

At the time Category 5e cabling was the standard with Category 6 cabling about to be ratified.

The demands on the performance of the cables meant that it was essential to protect them from water damage, chemicals and from any damage which may occur during installation or at a later date from uneven surfaces, sharp edges, ridges, pressure points, etc.

The Imsis team prides itself on their service levels and commitment to customer satisfaction. Their product, Cablelay, is highly respected in the marketplace and has been specified for use on various substanstial projects.

When basket tray is installed, Cablelay basket matting helps to protect data cables from being crushed. Basket matting is quick and easy to install, and available in 30m lengths.

Cablelay is a Class ‘O’ fire rated, flexible, closed cell, elastomeric, nitrile rubber.  It is a highly efficient method, ideal for the use of laying Category 6 structured cabling systems under raised floors or in traditional containment infrastructures such as cable tray or a basket equivalent.  Cablelay is dust free, fibre free and CFC free with an ODP of zero making it an environmentally friendly product.

Cablelay is made of a highly flexible elastomeric material which is quick and easy to install and available in various widths to compliment the construction environment.  It can also be manufactured to any specific width and coloured to increase its versatility. It has a closed cell structure which has 0.9% average and 1.5% max water absorption by volume after 28 days.

Class ‘O’ Cablelay has an excellent fire safety performance achieving BS476 part 6 1989 for low fire propagation, producing minimal contribution to the overall heat release, and BS476 part 7 1987 for zero surface spread of flame.
